While attending acting school I have been focused on what tools I need as an actor in order to successfully act on a scripted show or film. I have been recording scenes and critically watching them to determine shot selection and blocking for the camera. We study Emotional Range, Comedy, and Character Choices. We are educated in film terminology as well as set etiquette and more.
Always be prepared, don’t make excuses. Be confident and own your character choice. Don’t start over fight through it.
While working on stage plays with As1 I learned how develop characters and make them big and bold for the stage. I also refined my improvisation skills as in theater acting “the show must go on”!
I began learning my process of acting here through relaxation and improvisational exercise. In addition to the regular faculty, guest directors and visiting teachers were brought in from the professional world and from the ranks of the Kansas City Repertory Theater to enhance training opportunities. Accreditation is by the National Association of Schools of Theater (NAST).
